I'm hoping this might be the most comprehensive collection of domain parking pages. 😎 Anyway, here we go.
Who can forget the domain girl? Above domain parking page was quite widely seen in early 2000. She was so ubiquitous she started to appear on Internet memes too.
This one was also quite widespread - is it blackboard inspired? I wonder if these parking pages were ever optimized and A/B tested. I mean, after all they looked the same, but perhaps different styles, colors or themes had actual impact on people clicking on the links.
How about the good ole GoDaddy parking page? Remember that cool dude looking GoDaddy logo? I kind miss it. It definitely had more flavor to their branding, then they all became rather corporate.
A few more boring ones that I vaguely remember.
In 2020 and 2021, we started to see more of the following styles.
I mean, surely we can do a little bit better can't we? I actually think the parking page with the domain girl is more interesting, but maybe for every page, parking companies had to pay her a fee. Would love to know what happened to her.
All these pages aside, the main point is that the domain parking page just sucks. They bring almost zero value. Would you seriously not want your unused domain name look like the ones above? Or convert them into something far more value-providing like the ones below.
Above sites are instantly developed by the Newsy platform - https://www.newsy.co - it's the new way of doing domain parking 2021. We host 50 of our own domain names on Newsy. Once you set it up, you leave it alone and it runs on its own. We'll never go back to the old way. Test-drive it for yourself today.
